Filming spherical footage can be challenging in certain environments, and the cabin of a plane is one of them. I operated the cameras and acted as post-production supervisor. Camera positions of the spherical images has the added dimension that the position of the cameras must be optimized for each action, keeping in mind potential stitching artifacts, in order to produce a clean, high-quality result… I stitched the footage in a combination of Kolor AVP and NukeX – patching clean plates, warping, and rotoscoping all within Nuke X, to deliver a high product for Virgin Atlantic.
Since successfully delivering ‘Meet IDA’, I have filmed a second VR film for Virgin Atlantic. Operating as Director of photography. Currently in postproduction.
